The Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer FMConnect, a wonderful networking opportunity for you and your employees. This group is loosely based on the “young professionals organization” model, but our motto is “Anyone who wants to meet new people and learn about Fort Madison is welcome!” Originally developed out of response from businesses looking to acquaint new employees to the area, FMConnect has grown into much more. The group does indeed serve as a “welcome wagon” for new employees and also offers professional development and social activities.

In February 2010, the group kicked-off in a grand way, hosting the FIRST EVER community day at Carver-Hawkeye Arena! Over 400 people from Fort Madison went to an Iowa Hawkeyes Basketball game, which was dubbed by the Athletics Department as “Fort Madison Day.” In addition to cheering on the team, Our participants visited with Fort Madison native and Iowa Basketball staff member Ryan Bowen and were honored that Matt Morris opened the game with the singing of our National Anthem! This is sure to become an annual event that FMConnect is proud to spearhead.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES:

We will be hosting golf socials throughout the summer at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course.  All golf socials are completely open to anyone wishing to participate.  We tee-off at 6PM on the first and third Mondays of each month.  For more details, please email Justin Pieper at jpieper@gbp-ins.com
